Wagers & Whispers:
Place Your Bet On Community
Community Voting
As part of the Wagers & Whispers Contest, Springfield youth shared powerful works of art exploring how gambling impacts their lives and communities.
Now it's your turn to make a difference - your vote will help raise awareness about problem gambling and decide which artists take home prizes!
Voting ends on November 7th!
Gambling is more accessible than ever—from sports betting apps and online casinos to loot boxes in video games.
Recent research shows that 63.5% of young adults in Springfield aged 18–24 reported having gambled, engaging in activities such as sports betting, card games, and betting against friends.
These patterns raise concerns about increased risks for problem gambling, especially among communities of color, LGBTQ+ youth, and those experiencing economic hardship.
